Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, illustration to the Bhagavata Purana, the one-thousand armed demon Vanasura visits Shiva and Parvati on Mount Kailash. He presents himself (right side of upper panel) and then accompanies Shiva who dances before him in ecstacy.
