Painting, watercolour on paper, a Hindu cultivator of the Deccan Plateau, Southern India. He stands turned slightly to the left but looks to the right; he wears a dark green coat, and a white skirt-cloth and long shoulder-shawl. On his head is a globular red turban and on his feet are sandals. He holds a betel-box and leaves in his hands.
