Landscapes in Various Styles after Old Masters, 1690. Mei Qing (Chinese, 1623–1697). Album leaf: ink and color on paper; overall: 28.6 x 44 cm (11 1/4 x 17 5/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, John L. Severance Fund 1962.157.1 Mei Qing produced a surge of new paintings after his 1690 tour of Huangshan’s breathtaking peaks.
Inscription: Spring Leaf I (formerly Leaf A). Artist's inscription, signature, and seals:

Prunus blossoms from a thousand trees and an old hut-/
The painting seems filled with their fragrance for a distance of ten miles./
In the wintry mountains I sit alone without company;/
Having just finished a new poem, I think I'll taste some wine.
