Bowl, 2nd-1st Century BC. Greece, late Hellenistic period. Silver gilt; diameter: 13.7 cm (5 3/8 in.); overall: 7.5 cm (2 15/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, John L. Severance Fund 1986.24 Silver-gilt, a technique of layering a thin layer of gold over silver, was used to decorate this bowl.
