Birds on an Autumn Inlet, c. 1200. China, Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279). Album leaf; ink and color on silk; overall: 22.4 x 24 cm (8 13/16 x 9 7/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Kelvin Smith Collection, given by Mrs. Kelvin Smith 1985.369 The pair of ducks displays plumage dimorphism with the male more ornamented or brightly colored than the female.
