The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Mrs. John Sherwin 1951.300.b Wedgwood's tricolor jasperware first became popular in the 1770s during a period of fascination with neoclassical decoration. This vase was probably made around 1850 during the period when this type of decoration was revived. The relief medallions depict two versions of the Greek god Apollo, the god of music, next to his harp or lyre. See cover record.
