- " The wirting which lifts the heavens and pulls up the earth, the talk which threatens away ghosts, the painting which is without the ancient and present traditions, cannot be found in the laymen's vision. Before painting, no rule is set; after painting no trace is left." " On February 16th, the thirtieth year ( of the Republic of China [1912]), I painted orchids and bamboo and copied Banqiao's remarks."
