- Inscribed
- " On March 7th, 1960 an international competition of flowers was held in New York, which was magificant. I love the quietness and elegance of the orchid in its own manner. Although it is present in a dusty worldm it remains untouched owing to its beautiful and delicate character among all kinds of flowers. Therefore I paint it to extol its noble spirit. It cannot be easy for an ordinary person to understand this." " People praise the event of flowers, but I would say that human affairs are still a mess; whenever I am free, I paint orchids with my door closed."
