Weyden, Rogier van der

Flemish painter, ca. 1399-1464

Van der Weyden was a popular and influential artist. He apparently learned much from Robert Campin (the Master of Flémalle). He was a talented draftsman and designer, emphasizing with the emotional impact of his work and meticulous technical execution.
