Sachs, Tom

American sculptor, installation artist, and painter, born 1966

Studied at the Architectural Association in London in 1987, then received a BA at Bennington College, Vermont,1989. He was first known for works that were made from the packaging of luxury goods. His sculptural works are usually recreations of objects made with hot glue guns, foamcore and common construction materials. His work has been included in many exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, and has been collected by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Centre Georges Pompidou, San Francisco MOMA, and the Astrup Fearnley Museet for Moderne Kunst, Oslo.
