Rohde, Werner

German photographer and painter, 1906-1990

In 1927, Rohde took up photography producing photomontages and collages. From 1929 to 1930, Rohde lived in Paris where he worked as a photographer and a painter. In 1931, Rohde returned to Bremen, Germany, where he worked as a freelance photographer and painter until 1939. In 1945, Rohde set up a studio as a painter on glass and a stained glass artist in Worpswede, near Bremen, Germany.
