Italian painter, 1918-2015
Self-taught painter of often erotic subject matter and themes of female sexual identity. She was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at 2003 Venice Biennale, and had solo shows at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, in Turin, and at the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris.
