Matsuzawa, Yutaka

Japanese installation artist, born 1922

Matsuzawa studied architecture at Waseda University, graduating in 1946. He organized the Alpha Group in 1954. He received a Fullbright scholarship and traveled to the United States, 1955-1957. He has exhibited internationally since 1952. His work is conceptual in nature, centering on words and happenings. He held a post as a teacher of mathematics at a College of Further Education for thirty-three years, retiring in 1982.
