Lanceley, Colin
Australian painter and sculptor, 1938-2015
Australian painter born in New Zealand. First associated with the Sydney art collective known as the Annandale Imitation Realists, then active in London from 1965, where he showed with the Marlborough Gallery. He returned to Australia in 1981. Inducted into the Order of Australia in 1990, and the recipient of an Australia Council Creative Arts Fellowship in 1991. His work is in the collections of a variety of museums, including the the Tate, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
