Kamenskiǐ, Vasiliǐ
Russian painter, graphic artist, and poet, 1884-1961
The Futurist Kamenskiǐ was a painter, playright and poet. Kamenskiǐ was born in the Russian town of Perm and is most noted for discovering Velemir Khlebnikov while he was a student and Kamenskiǐ was the editor of the newspaper Vesna (Spring). Kamenskiǐ was also part of the Sadok sudei group. In 1909 he became involved with other futurists such as David Burlyuk, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Aleksei Kruchenykh, and Kirill Zdanevich. Kamenskiǐ was also responsible for a number of books, decrees, and exhibits.
