African-American painter, designer, and teacher, 1905-1998
Dr. Jones graduated magna cum laude from Howard University in 1945. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters from Suffolk University in Boston. She was one of the last artists of the Harlem Renaissance to study in Paris.
