Gibbings, Robert

British wood engraver, book designer and travel writer, 1889-1958

Founded the Society of Wood Engravers in 1919 and ran the Golden Cockerell Press, 1924-33. His books typically combine personal anecdote, topographical information, observations on nature and his engravings. Also remembered for his nudist phase.
