Connor, Linda
American photographer, born 1944
Connor studied photography with Harry Callahan at Rhode Island Institute of Technology. In 1966, she worked as a freelance photographer in San Francisco, and from 1967 to 1969 she studied at the Illinois Institute of Technology with Aaron Siskind. Connor began to teach photography at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1969. From 1973 to 1975, she was co-president of the photography department, and since 1975 has been president. Connor photographed in India and Nepal in 1979-1980 and from 1978 to the present, she has been documenting North American petroglyphs, or rock art.
