Caranza, Ernest de
French photographer, engineer, and manufacturer, 1837-1863
Caranza was an engineer and manufacturer who was involved with scientific missions to Constantinople and other parts of the Ottoman Empire. He took photographs while travelling in the Ottoman Empire. He was named the Sultan's Royal Photographer ca. 1852. Member, Société Française de Photographie, 1956.
