Biard, Pierre, the younger
French sculptor and printmaker, 1592-1661
Son and apprentice of Pierre Biard the Elder, the younger Pierre was active in Paris. He became 'Sculpteur du Roi' and executed many works (most of which were destroyed in the late 18th century) including a bronze Amphitrite pulled by four bronze seahorses and a bronze effigy of Louis XIII in the Place Royale.
