American video artist, 1938-2016

Known for video work that is characterized by simplicity and focus on the mundane. His early work appeared at film festivals internationally and on PBS in the United States. He often worked in collaboration with other artists. He taught at the Pratt Institute and New York University, and lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons School of Design, the Museum of Modern Art,, and the Anthology Film Archives.
