Arad, Ron
Israeli designer and architect, born 1951, active in Britain
After studying architecture in London, Arad opened the 'One Off' design company and gallery in 1981 and it became a leading alternative design center in that city. Arad made his name with the Rover Chair in which old Rover car seats were remade into chairs. Other noteworthy designs include the polished steel Well-Tempered Chair and the aluminum Horns Chair (1986-1987).
