The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Muiriel Outten Brockman in memory of William A. and Clara Muir Outten 2010.237 With its wavy striped pattern of dark green emeralds, highlighting the nine significant diamonds of marquise cut, this glamorous pendant brooch reflects the fashion for contrasting colors and rhythmic pattern first seen in Vienna around 1900 but even more prevalent after the First World War in the 1920s. This elegant pendant brooch was made and sold by the Cleveland jewelry firm of Cowell and Hubbard.
