Scent Bottle, c. 1920–30. 19th century. Agate with silver mounts; diamonds, enamel; The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Howard F. Stirn 2009.31 Cartier sold a line of scent bottles in the 1920s composed of older Chinese bottles that had been embellished with tiny jewels in random spots on the surface and mounted in either silver or gold. Tiny chips of diamonds are embedded into the surface of this scent bottle.
