Bow Fibulae, 500–550. Alemannic, 6th century. Silver gilt and niello; overall: 7.7 x 4.9 x 2 cm (3 1/16 x 1 15/16 x 13/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Joe Hatzenbuehler 2007.221 This type of fibula, or pin, is also called a "digitized fibula" because of its radiating knobs that resemble fingers.
