Earthenware with printed decoration; with cover: 13.5 cm (5 5/16 in.); diameter with handles: 23.7 cm (9 5/16 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of Martin K. Webb and Charles L. Venable 2006.143.a Concentric circles give this design its streamlined look and place it firmly within the Machine Age style of the 1930s. Leigh Potters produced sophisticated designs for the modern table that were inexpensive and affordable even during the height of the Great Depression. Leigh Potters tableware was sold in "five and dime" stores around the country.
