Album of 10 leaves; ink and color on silk; overall: 47.7 x 34.6 cm (18 3/4 x 13 5/8 in.); painting only: 41 x 31.5 cm (16 1/8 x 12 3/8 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Kelvin Smith Collection, given by Mrs. Kelvin Smith 1985.251 As the title of this album suggests, Tsubaki Chinzan painted each of the landscapes included in the album after interpretations of the styles of old masters by Chinese painter Zhai Dakun (翟大坤, active 1730–1804). In addition to the painted compositions, he also copied the inscriptions on Zhai Dakun's paintings.
