Bowl, c. 1960–67. Orrefors Glasshouse (Swedish, est. 1898). Glass; diameter: 10.2 x 21 cm (4 x 8 1/4 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Harold T. Clark Educational Extension Fund 1968.134 This eleven-sided bowl features stylized leaves on each of its flat surfaces. These leaves may refer to Orrefors’s location within Sweden’s Småland forests. The bowl’s charcoal translucency was a popular shade of glass coloring throughout the 20th century. The number of sides on this bowl make it the shape of a hendecagon, or an eleven-sided polygon.
