Bottle, 1959. Elizabeth C. McFadyen (American). Stoneware; diameter: 11.2 cm (4 7/16 in.); overall: 21 x 16.8 cm (8 1/4 x 6 5/8 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, Gift of The Cleveland Art Association 1959.159 This bottle, along with two other ceramic pieces by McFadyen, won first prize in the Pottery and Porcelain--For Group category at the Cleveland Museum of Art's 41st May Show in 1959. The side of the brown stoneware bottle is incised with four niches, each decorated with a human figure.
