Feast of the Gods, c. 1571–1578. Probably by Alessandro Vittoria (Italian, 1525–1608). Bronze; overall: 34.3 x 22.2 cm (13 1/2 x 8 3/4 in.). The Cleveland Museum of Art, John L. Severance Fund 1952.464 Banquets of the gods were common literary devices in classical texts and myth, and their use here enmeshed with the desire to capture the sensuality of the body and water in motion.
