The Royal Couple as Priest and Priestess | musefully
The Royal Couple as Priest and Priestess, 305-200 B.C.E.. Sandstone, pigment, 11 5/8 x 11 in. (29.5 x 28 cm). Charles Edwin Wilbour Fund, 87.2. Creative Commons-BY.
This stela is interesting for its depiction of the royal couple, rather than the king by himself, praising and making an offering to the falconheaded deity. The queen’s so-called Hathor crown (consisting of cow’s horns with a sun disk surmounted by two plumes) indicates her partially divine status.
